We are Women First

For over 50 years, Women First International Fund has been investing in bold, lasting solutions for global gender equality and economic justice. Guided by the belief that those most impacted by inequality know what it takes to create meaningful change, we provide multi-year funding and capacity-strengthening support to grassroots organizations led by women and trans people. Here’s a glimpse into how our partners in Uganda are leading the way to a world that works for everyone.

Site Visits
August 28, 2020
Visiting grantee partners in their communities is an essential part of our work. Site visits strengthen relationships and improve our ability to support grantees holistically. They help us understand the contexts in which we fund, as well as how our grantee partners are navigating challenges. In addition to providing onsite mentorship, we gather feedback and stories, meet grantees’ stakeholders and peers, and focus together on reaching organizational goals.
While COVID-19 has put site visit plans on hold, we welcome you to join us as we ‘travel’ through the incredible experiences and learnings we have taken away from recent onsite trips. Program staff will be sharing photos, videos, and stories from our focus countries, so that when you sign off, you’ll have a better picture of where we fund, who we fund, and what we gain when we show up - literally - for our grantee partners.
